Bre and con write up

Concentration: (Self Portrait Collection)
My concentration section of the portfolio is completely finished. The connections between all twelve photos stretches farther that simply my face. Every photo has a dark feeling about it as well as the mood being rather serious. They may have the same mood; however, the photos are rather diverse. I made sure to make it that way because I get bored easily so I did not want any viewers to get that feeling from looking at my art work. This is rather random but I learned to think about that from watching "Project Runway" all the time. At the end of the show they have to create a whole collection and the judges always loved the ones that were diverse but similar. The concept hidden underneath the photos is about your personal view of yourself inside and out. The judgement that a person inflicts on themselves is generally terribly high and I tried to make my photos expose the truth of that. I choose to make them a self portrait collection for two reasons, I could show my concept stronger being that I am my own biggest critic  so I would be more connected with the photos. The second reason was because I know people don't like it when they are depicted negatively. I did not want that to hinder me from finding my concept and lessen the mood of the photos.

Breadth:
My breadth section is mainly finished as well I just might replace one of them to make my portfolio stronger. I would say it varies greatly which is good. I believe it shows a variety of strength as well. It took awhile to really get a handle on the 2D design qualifications because when I came into the year I  relied heavily on mark making. I adore photography and design but no matter what I am a painter and drawer underneath. To let go of my habits took some getting used to but I am very glad I did because it strengthens  my ability to understand composition which will help my art work in every form.
